A Certificate of Electrical Safety (CES) is a legal document issued by a Registered Electrical Contractor or licensed electrician to record the details of the electrical work they have performed. This certificate is required for electricity connections after a premises has been vacant for 12 months or more. It is a requirement from electricity distributors to remain compliant with each state’s Electricity Safety Act.
